10 Most Memorable 2008
Part of the development between Cabbagetown & East Atlanta, this restaurant is a shiny and bright as a newly minted penny. New Chef Lance Gummere's menu is a farm to table marvel, changing often, but highlighted with Gummere's version of chopped chicken livers and warm comforting sunchoke soup. And the beet salad is the best in the city.
Ther's lots more pith here than platitude-All the more reason to raise its status from two to three stars.

My Top Five Faves For Eating Under $30
Times are tight, but in spite of the recession, lots of folks are still headed out to eat. We can skimp, but we’re not skipping dinner, dang it. So I’ll sandwich the bad news between the good: people are still going out to eat in droves, they’re just not ordering as much, and restaurants that once had two seatings — even three — are limited to one. Wine? By the glass, baby. Look for specials all around, too: many of your favorite spots might be offering deals these days. In the meantime, try these spots on for a meal that won’t dip into your savings — it you order just right, two people can eat easily for $30.

Chef Lance Gummere, who served as Shaun Doty’s sous chef for more than a decade, has finally found a kitchen he can call his own. He makes his mark with fresh ingredients and straightforward cooking, and offerings — such as bruschetta with chicken livers and bacon, or the beet salad with goat cheese — that are as easy on the pocketbook as they are the palate. He and owner/manager Cindy Shera are always cooking up specials, too, like $3 slider night and $20 Sunday suppers. Take a date for $30 rating: 9
Delicious Detour
I knew Gummere had found his voice the minute I tasted a fried maine diver scallop slider...This is an exceedingly pleasant alternative to the bar-driven scene of East Atlanta

We went — where else? — to the Shed at Glenwood Wednesday night, for the $3 sliders and had another great meal. I’m addicted to the barbacoa but tried a new one made with meatballs, which turned out to be another winner.

We hit the Shed at Glenwood’s weekly $3 slider night yesterday and Chef Lance Gummere’s latest, one made with barbacoa, was fantastico.

We visited The Shed at Glenwood recently and both of us ordered the $24 Daily Prix Fixe, mainly because we wanted the restaurant's excellent Profiteroles made with Valrhona Chocolate sauce & Espresso Ice Cream. The Rest of our meal was great, too.
